Galaxy Tab terbaru ini memakai sistem operasi Android Honeycomb, yang diklaim paling cocok dipakai di tablet dibanding generasi Android sebelumnya. Dengan demikian, ia bakal menantang tablet Honeycomb lain seperti Motorola Xoom dan LG Optimus Pad.
Untuk memperbaiki performanya, Galaxy Tab 10,1 dibekali prosesor 1GHz dual-core. Disertakan pula konektivitas 802.11n Wi-Fi,HSPA+ dan Bluetooth 3.0. Kemudian kamera belakang beresolusi 8 MP dan kamera depan 2 MP.
